Falling

Life was wonderful,
beautiful,
incredible times
and the sun would always shine
with no clouds in the sky.

Felt like an angel came
down to me
to show me the things
I searched for but could never find.

You opened my eyes,
gave me confidence,
showed me the way to separate right from wrong.
Nothing would ever change but
then came the day
when you told that I must be strong.

You said you needed much more time for yourself
It felt like you’re done with me and put me back on the shelf.
You turned your back on me and I just felt like

Falling from high up to the ground
Scattered to a million pieces to be lost and never found
I was falling down a waterfall of pain
Drowning in a sea of tears to never see the light again.

Now I ask myself
all the time
how in the world it happened
that I have been so blind.
I built my life around you only and left everybody and everything else behind.

Later I found out so many things that you did as soon as I turned my back
When we were together betrayal and lies were things I didn’t quite expect.

I had to understand that changes can come fast.
There is no guarantee that things are here to last.
You walked away from me and I just felt like

Falling from high up to the ground
Scattered to a million pieces to be lost and never found
I was falling down a waterfall of pain
Drowning in a sea of tears to never see the light again.

Still I would like to thank you, I learned a lot,
you showed me what it means
When every little thing that I thought I got
is falling apart at the seams.

I never thought I would ever experience
breaking down like this.
I just hope I will never have to fall again.
