Well, well, well, what’s happening?
Another trip to Stressland.
For two more weeks I disappear,
leave my private life to quicksand.

All my friends think actually
that I’m going on vacation.
I leave them to their strong believe
while I fly across the nations.

My, my, my, what’s going on?
Why are people just like cattle?
I’ve been standing in this line so long,
until it finally got settled.

Hours later in my hotel room
I fall down on my bed.
I could use a little nap this noon
but I have to leave instead.

Wherever I lay my head
it never feels like home.
I long for comfort while I’m gone.
Wherever I lay my head
somehow I feel alone.
I clearly know where I belong.

Well, well, well, what’s on my mind?
Another night in worktown.
We roam the streets and try to find
a place where we can chill out.

We’re having fun, eat and drink
have some real good conversations.
But when I go to bed I think
about all my obligations.

I long for comfort while I’m gone.
Wherever I lay my head
somehow I feel alone.
I clearly know where I belong.

My, my, my, what do I say?
I still love what I do.
I escape the rut from time to time,
and there’s always something new.

Different places and the people there
are a great thing to explore.
But as the days go by I miss
my loved ones even more.

Well, well, well, it’s never easy
and the lesson that I learned:
It’s great to go out and explore
and even better to return.
