he decided to finally record and produce some of his own songs which reflect a completely different range of music styles.

ridiculous. I'm a grownup brutal metal head but this shit just tore me apart.... This "Little Guy"song is way more powerful than many and many metal and rock songs... not speaking of masterpieces like Superboo and shadowland, cool homage to Foo Fighters, QOTSA, Nick Cave and Johnny Cash. And also Fun Loving Criminals which also is very cool.
